What was the person's experience prior to the workshop Honesty Scale- From Brutal Honesty to People Pleasing?
A ‘good‘ and ‘honest‘ person suffered from conflicts with loved ones.
The person characterised herself as being honest and took great pride in it, but also shared that she suffered in relationships because others misunderstood her honesty. In her mind she blamed others for these conflicts.
How was the introspection phase helpful in this case?
The introspection enabled the realization that honesty was being subconsciously used as a revenge tool.
The person realised that the conflicts in her relationships were actually caused by her (brutal) honesty. In fact, she understood that a subconscious mechanism was masking her revenge under the cover of honesty.
After the realization, she had numerous flashbacks of such situations and conflicts.
How did the transformation occur?
Taking responsibility for the role in conflicts.
She stopped seeing herself as a victim of people misunderstanding her honesty and took responsibility for her role in the conflict. This improved her way of expressing truth to others.
After a couple of weeks, she shared that this change made a huge impact on her relationships and on her feelings. She felt lighter, free and was able to be more vulnerable and honest without hurting others.
