Who Is Absent From Life? How to Be More Present?

Are we mainly operating on autopilot, mechanically navigating through life? Or are we present in the majority of our life moments?
Many of us find ourselves overwhelmed by the daily demands of work, family, friends, and unexpected events, leading to states of worry, stress, or fatigue.
The patterns of avoiding life typically originate from childhood, where we developed mechanisms to cope with physical or emotional pain. Over time, these avoidance strategies become ingrained and expanded. Reflecting on our current lives, it’s common to recognize various avoidance mechanisms such as overeating, alcohol consumption, excessive exercise, workaholism, binge-watching TV, fantasizing, and excessive use of social networks.
Continuing to be emotionally absent allows negative aspects to “flourish”. The key to improvement lies in facing and addressing reality and being truly present. The Paradox-x workshop aims to uncover the reasons behind our detachment from life and identify the avoidance mechanisms we employ. Moreover, we will learn how to learn from and transform painful memories, thus creating more enjoyable conditions for a state of presence.
